Friday Goals

Happy Mom Goal:

Splurge! Today, buy something you don't really need, but would love to have. It doesn't have to be huge, just something you don't normally get. It could be anything from a new ipod, down to a cheap smoothie from your favorite restaurant (as will be my case.) Just spoil yourself a little bit extra today!

Happy Kid Goal:

Today's a great day for the park! So simple, yet so much fun for your kids. Don't just hang out on the park bench and watch..... this time let's all get involved! Go play with your kids on the equipment. Push them on the swings, slide down the slide a few times, or play a game of tag. That attention from you is priceless.

Happy Husband Goal:

In today's world, email is one of the best ways to communicate. We're all so busy that email is just the quickest and easiest way to get in touch with people. But when was the last time you got an email that made you smile and feel loved? Maybe it was recently for you, but not for me! And I doubt your man gets very many like that. Today, write up a quick email for your man about how much you love him and that you're thinking of him. It will be pretty unexpected, but it'll definitely put a smile on his face!

Happy House Goal:

Clutter-quick-blitz! I do this several times a day at my house. Start with the main room in your house. Find the most cluttered area in that room and clear it off. Find a place for everything and put it "away-away." Then move to the next cluttered spot and then the next. Do this through all the living space in your home and do it as fast as you can. In no time at all, your house will be clutter free!

Dinner Tonight:

Spinach Salad

(submitted by Chelsea K.)

Combine in a large bowl:

1 bag baby spinach

1/2 pkg bacon cooked and crumbled

1 c grated swiss cheese

4-6 boiled eggs (depends on ow much you like, we like lots)

small red onion sliced or chopped

Dressing:

3/4 c red wine vinegar

3/4 c sugar

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 TBS poppy seeds

3/4 tsp dry mustard

1 1/2 c olive oil (light)

Combine all ingredients together but seeds and emulsify for several minutes (mix really well with and electric mixer), add seed and mix in. If serving to a crowd, prepare the salad and add the dressing just five minutes before serving, it makes the spinach wilt slightly, which is good but not for too long.

Today's Pep Talk

"God could not be everywhere, therefore, he created mothers."

~Hebrew Proverb

This is so true. You bless the lives of so many, and as a mother you are the ones who care for not only your own family, but for human kind in general. Mothers are the staple who hold this world together. Remember that today when you need a little encouragement.
