Happy Mom Goal:
Ever feel like you get in a rut with your makeup routine? I do. Well today, I want you to spice it up! Go a tiny bit out of your comfort zone and do something different with your face that looks absolutely fabulous!
Happy Kid Goal:
Get out the crayons and roll up your sleeves! Today we're going to color with our little ones. Have your kid(s) draw a picture of you, and you draw one of them. Then you get to exchange the pictures! Hang the ones they drew on your bedroom wall for a few days - You're kids will love it!
Happy Husband Goal:
Find some time today to go for a walk with your husband - just the two of you. You don't have to go anywhere romantic or anything, just some alone time would be nice!
Happy House Goal:
Do some gardening/yard work today. If you don't have a yard, maybe plant a little house plant for your window. Plants brighten up your day!
Dinner Tonight
Teriyaki Flank Steak
1 cup chopped onion (1/2 ½ large onion)
1/3 cup orange juice
1 cup teriyaki sauce
1 Tablespoon chopped garlic
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1 Tablespoon rosemary
1 flank steak Pour all of the ingredients together in a gallon size plastic bag. Then place flank steak into the marinade, and place into a 13 X 9 baking dish. Put the pan in the refrigerator, and let marinade for at least 1 hour. (The longer you can marinade the steak the better). Turn the steak over occasionally so that both sides get marinated. Remove steak from marinade, and grill or broil to desired temperature. Cut into strips and serve. (It's best to cut against the grain of the meat)
Serve with rice and steamed veggies.
Today's Pep Talk
I'll make the moral of the day simple: Do what works for you!
I think we all see our friends or even our own mothers' way of doing things and sometimes wish we could do it the way they do. If they have a truly amazing way of doing things, then by all means - try it! But if it doesn't work out as well for you, don't kill yourself trying to keep it up. For instance, I see my own mother clean her house each morning after she wakes up, and it looks great for the rest of the day. I tried it.....didn't work out so great. I spent so much time cleaning while my kids played and then re-cleaning what they had messed up that by the end of the day I was exhausted and frustrated with the fact that I still had a messy house. To be honest with you, I do all my cleaning at night after the kids have gone to bed. All of it. I actually don't get to bed until well after midnight. But that's just what works for me. Crazy? Maybe. But maybe you have a crazy way of doing something else. Who cares? It works! And you pull it off beautifully!
