Happy Mom Goal:
Sometimes we need to practice our motherly instincts and love on people other than our own families. We women are just born with the need to love and help others, and I think that's a wonderful thing. What would the world be like without us!? So today, volunteer at a local shelter or charity organization. Not that ambitious? Just make an extra dinner tonight when you're making your own, and take it to a family in need. Maybe a single mother you know, or someone who's recently had surgery done. This will make you feel just plain good inside.
Happy Kid Goal:
(submitted by Chelsea K.)
This one's awesome, I remember my mom doing it with me as a kid! Get a box of graham crackers and make (or buy) your favorite frosting. Get all the kids up to the kitchen counter and make frosting filled graham cookies! Let the kids spread (or help you spread) the frosting the way they want to. It's so simple, but kids of most ages purely delight in this!
Happy Husband Goal:
Leave your hubby's favorite drink (like a 16 oz Coke, etc;) and a little "I love you" note in his car before he goes to work. (You may have to do this later tonight or tomorrow morning if you're reading this after he already left for work.)
Happy House Goal:
Organize your kid's dresser drawers today. I seriously have to do this like twice a week to keep everything in nice, neat piles, but I love the way it looks and feels afterwards! (all the underwear and pj's in the top drawer, shirts and socks in the middle drawer, pants in the bottom drawer, etc;)
Dinner Tonight:
Buffalo Chicken Poppers
(submitted by BethAnna S.)
1 pkg Crescent rolls or wanton wraps
canned chicken (or cooked boneless skinless breasts, shredded)
Franks Buffalo Sauce
Melted butter
Fresh Blue Cheese
Blue Cheese Dressing or Ranch Dressing
Mix Franks sauce & chicken together in a bowl to desired saucy-ness reserving some of the sauce. Flatten out crescent rolls on a pan and cut in halves. (If using Wanton wraps no need to flatten or cut in half) Brush with melted butter then franks sauce. Add a small amount of crumbled blue cheese to center then chicken mixture. Seal off fried wanton style brush with more melted butter (beaten egg mixture works best to seal if using wantons). Bake 350 Degrees until rolls are golden brown. (about 8-10 min) Serve with favorite dipping sauce (If using wantons a pampered chef type baking stone or just deep frying works best)
Today's Pep Talk
I'd just like to post a cool quote today:
"You are an amazing mom. When we take time to note the good in ourselves, we feel better about ourselves, so we can better see and respond to the positive in our children." ~Debra S Woods
